Lunch with Prof. Chad Raphael
A scholar of political and environmental communication, Chad Raphael is a Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University. He is currently co-editing a book about community-based research for environmental justice, based on an article he recently published on this topic.
Previously, Professor Raphael co-authored Deliberation, Democracy, and Civic Forums: Improving Equality and Publicity and wrote Investigated Reporting: Muckrakers, Regulators, and the Struggle over Television Documentary, which won three awards for best book of the year in his field.
Prof. Raphael will give us his take take on the decline of local news as a resource for holding elected officials accountable and what solutions we might seek to remedy this dilemma.
